Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

Islands is a browser based multiplayer game available at islands.games (the "Game"). By accessing or playing the Game you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to connect a wallet and make purchases in the Game. Guests may explore the world without a wallet. You are responsible for making sure that your use of the Game is legal where you live.

3. Your wallet and your account

  • Your account is your Solana wallet. Logging in means signing a message with your wallet. This signature is free and cannot move funds.
  • You alone are responsible for your wallet, its seed phrase and its security. We can never recover wallets, seed phrases or funds for you, and we will never ask for them.
  • Your hero name and island names must not be offensive, misleading or infringe the rights of others. We may reset names that break this rule.

4. Virtual items and progress

  • Islands, buildings, resources (meat, gold, wood), guardians, levels, XP and all other in-game content are virtual items. They exist only inside the Game and have no monetary value outside of it.
  • Virtual items are not an investment. We make no promises about their future value, availability or tradability.
  • Purchases unlock virtual content as part of an entertainment service. A purchase is fulfilled at the moment the content is delivered in-game and does not create a deposit, a stored balance owed to you or any ongoing claim against us beyond that delivery.
  • We constantly balance and develop the Game. Prices, drop rates, stats and mechanics can change at any time as part of normal game development.

5. Payments

  • Land purchases and market buys are USDC payments on Solana mainnet. Every payment requires your explicit wallet signature and is recorded on-chain.
  • Blockchain payments are final. Once a transaction is confirmed on-chain it cannot be reversed by us, and a purchase is completed with the in-game delivery of what you bought. Refunds are only provided where required by applicable law.
  • You are responsible for the wallet you pay from, for the network you use and for any taxes that may apply to you.
  • The Solana network is operated by third parties. We are not responsible for network outages, congestion or wallet software issues.

6. Player market

  • The in-game market is player to player. Sellers set their own prices; we neither set nor endorse them.
  • Listed items are held in escrow and delivered automatically after payment. A listing can never be sold twice.
  • Market proceeds are credited as an in-game USDC balance to the seller.

7. Fair play

You agree not to:

  • use bots, macros, scripts or any form of automation to play for you;
  • exploit bugs (report them instead), tamper with the client or attack our servers;
  • harass other players or use offensive names or content;
  • use the Game for money laundering or any other illegal activity.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations. Severe violations can result in the loss of virtual items and progress without compensation.

8. Intellectual property

The Game, its code, design, artwork and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. Buying virtual land grants you in-game rights only and no rights to the underlying software or artwork.

9. Availability and changes

  • We aim for a stable Game but provide it "as is" and "as available", without guarantees of uptime, persistence or error free operation.
  • We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the Game or parts of it at any time, temporarily or permanently. Where reasonably possible we will announce major changes in advance.
  • Because purchases are fulfilled at delivery (see sections 4 and 5), a later change, suspension or discontinuation of the Game does not give rise to reimbursement of amounts already spent or to compensation for virtual items and progress that become unavailable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost virtual items or losses caused by wallets, the Solana network or other third party services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version. Continued use of the Game after a change means you accept the new terms.
